Rob Christy’s photography career has included photographing college and professional sporting events as a contracted photographer for USA Today Sports Images. For 4 years he covered the Penn State home football games as well as many other Professional and Division 1 sporting events. His pictures appeared in the online versions of Sports Illustrated, ESPN, Fox Sports, USA Today, Chicago Tribune, Des Monies Register, Los Angeles Times and others.

 

He is an active member of the North Port Florida Area Chamber of Commerce and their volunteer photographer keeping busy with these events at least 3 days per week. He also is a Contract photographer for the local Sun Newspapers including the Venice Gondolier.

 

In the past 15 years, he has taken and edited literally millions of photographs with an assortment of 6 Canon camera bodies, 18 Canon lenses, Canon flashes, and Profoto strobes.

 

He also donates his photography expertise to organizations like the United Way of South Sarasota County, Literacy Volunteers of South Sarasota County, Habitat for Humanity, Sarasota Library Foundation, Back Pack Angels, SCORE, Charlotte County Homeless Coalition and the Charlotte Choral

 

When he moved to Venice, Florida, he continued his passion to photograph sports. However, photographs for commercial clients including restaurants, food, real estate, real estate developer’s headshots on location, heavy construction, and social events has become his primary business. He still allows time to photographs on location family and pet pictures at a residence, park or beach. Technically challenging night photography has become a more recent passion and he recently completed a week of night photography on the Las Vegas Strip. On his day off he photographs wildlife and landscape scenes on land and in his boat.

 

He has won many photography competition awards and one of his wildlife images was published in the German Edition of the National Geographic Guide to Florida.
